      Larry Hall raced his way to two championships this season at Coastal Plains Raceway (CPR). With three wins and a top five in all but one race, Hall was determined to get a Mini Stock championship; and after winning every Mini Cup race of the 2006 season, he drove away with that championship as well.

      Hall began his racing career in go-karts fourteen years ago. After only two years of racing at Buck Creek Speedway and Highway 24 Raceway, Hall decided to move up to the Mini Cup class with World Karting Association (WKA). He finished second in the stock class points that year.

      In 1995, Hall won the WKA stock class championship. Then in 1996, he won both the stock and modified class championships. He took home the Mini Cup track championship at Fireball Raceway Park in Leland, NC in 2002. In the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Hall won 39 out of the 42 races; out of the three he did not win, one was due to a blown motor and in the other two he was caught up in wrecks.

     Then, in 2003, Hall made the switch over to Mini Stocks at CPR. After finishing behind Chris Kenney all too often, Hall got his first Mini Stock championship after only four seasons. But, even through all the excitement of his win, Hall does not forget to give credit where credit is due.

     “If it hadn’t been for Ronnie Hetu, Donald Kenney and Chris Kenney, I wouldn’t be where I am now,” Hall said.

     Next season, Hall plans on racing in both classes again, but his biggest plan is to get his nine-year-old son into a Mini Cup car.
