At only 20 years old, Chris Kenney already has nearly one hundred victories. He started racing go-karts when he was seven years old. Then, when he was fourteen, he began racing Mini Cup cars at Fireball Raceway in Leland. During his best season there, Kenney won 17 out of 24 races and the track championship.

At the end of the ’01 season, Kenney moved up to Mini Stocks at Coastal Plains Raceway (CPR). He won the track championship for Mini Stocks in ’02, ’03, ’04 and ’05.

This season, Kenney racked up seven victories, nine top five’s, and a top ten in each race he started. He ended the 2006 season in second place overall; a mere 28 points away from what would have been his fifth consecutive championship at CPR.

Next year Kenney plans on staying in the Mini Stock class however, he would like to travel more. With his little brother running the same class at Coastal Plains, Kenney hopes to expand his racing abilities by running at Southern National Raceway Park, East Carolina Motor Speedway, Myrtle Beach Speedway and possibly even South Boston Speedway in Virgina. He will continue to run at CPR but with the inability to finance a move to a higher division, Kenney would like to get as much experience as he can while still driving in Mini Stocks.
